First Edition. Quarto, pp., ix, [1], 272. Complete with 14 monochrome photographs to 8 plates; 4 fold-out maps plus 3 further folding maps in pocket to rear, all in colour. Publishers’ bevelled bottle green cloth with gilt titles to spine, gilt regimental crest to upper board and fillet border in blind to both boards. Marbled endpapers. Spine tips and corners a little rubbed; scattered light foxing as usual, mainly to text-block edge, otherwise contents clean and crisp. Presentation plate to front paste-down “Presented to the King’s Own Royal Regiment (Lancaster) by the Border Regiment August 1957”. A very good copy of a book not usually found in this condition.
 
History of the Regimental Depot and the thirteen battalions into which the Border Regiment was expanded during the Great War 1914-1918, with Appendices covering the disposal of regiments after the Armistice, and the 1st Battalion in 1922-23. Heavyweight so a contribution towards increased postage costs will be requested for overseas delivery. Scarce.
