Publishers’ deluxe maroon roan (in imitation of morocco) with gilt titles and decoration to spine and upper board, top edge gilt and marbled endpapers; ribbon place-marker. Spine lightly sunned; spine tips rubbed; wear to corners. Tidy gift inscription in ink to verso ffep, dated 1935; a little scattered light foxing, almost exclusively to endpapers, otherwise contents clean and bright. A very good copy. The verso of the title-page reads “First published in one volume 1928”. If this is the case, this is the first printing of all of Austen’s six major works in one volume. Certainly all of the earlier editions noted in Gilson are multi volume sets.
