A fascinating account of an itinerant photographer who travelled across County Durham in a caravan while photographing local people. The book describes local events and characters from an unusual vantage point. One episode recounts the story of Joe Piker, a County Durham man who was born as a woman but chose to live as a male farm labourer. The account has now entered local legend, and the story reproduced here differs to those written elsewhere. Rare.
