Extensive accounts of Dutch travellers through the Mediterranean in the first half of the eighteenth century. This is a compilation of travels from Cadiz, to Alicante, Pisa, Lucca, Florence, Messina, Izmir, Lesbos, Istanbul, Rhodes, Cyprus, Palestine, Egypt, and Syria. Partially printed by William Bowyer, whose ledgers show 750 copies only were printed. William Constable, esq, was the owner of Burton-Constable Hall, widely recognised as one of the finest country houses in North Yorkshire. He was an avid collector of art, antiquities, natural curiosities and, of course, books.
