Navy blue half calf with five raised bands, gilt motifs and ruling to compartments and red & sky blue calf title labels with gilt lettering, and navy buckram with red calf date cartouche to upper board surrounded by gilt decoration. Marbled endpapers. Housed in matching buckram-covered slipcase with leather edge and paper title label. No annotation or inscriptions - a very clean copy. Minor scuffing to slipcase edge otherwise also near-fine. Essays by various contributors covering many aspects of Darwin's life and work, as well as his legacy into the late twentieth century.
