Book Condition: Very Good. Dark blue cloth with gilt titles to upper board. Edges rubbed with very minor wear at corners and tail of spine; minor paint spotting to upper board. Lacks companion folder of graphs. A thesis presented by Edward Flynn in 1967 as part of the requirements necessary for the award of a Diploma of Advanced Educational Studies of the University of Newcastle upon Tyne. Subject matter covers the history of British coal mining with a focus on the qualifications and duties of the officials, their training and responsibilities, followed by a detailed study of the officials in the Northumberland coalfield. This is the Author's own copy - the only other likely copy would be held in the University Library.
