Issues 3794 to 3845 inclusive for the complete year 1912. Folio. Numerous illustrations and advertisements throughout. Later black half cloth with maroon pebbled cloth-covered boards; printed paper title-labels to spines. Ex- Sunderland Public Library copies with Reference Department labels to endpapers and numerous stamps. Boards lightly scuffed; a few minor nicks to edges, some minor stains and small loss to corners otherwise clean copies. Very Good overall.
Includes the 20 April and 4 May issues covering the Titanic disaster, with a double page cross-section to April 20th entitled “The Great Vessel Which Sank...”, and several further double-page illustrations of the vessel leaving Southampton, Lloyds after the news of the disaster broke, the arrival of the Carpathia with survivors at New York, and a crowd exemplifying the number of passengers who drowned, plus numerous further illustrations including a composite portrait sheet with vignettes of “Notable Passengers” such as the Astors and Bruce Ismay. Heavyweight, so a contribution towards increased postage costs will be requested for overseas delivery.
